If you play Path of Exile 2 for any length of time, you will greatly benefit from the easy build tracking, item comparison and build sharing features in Path of Building (PoB). This is THE essential third party tool for improving your Path of Exile gameplay. # Install Path of Building is open source software, created and maintained by volunteers developers. You can download the latest version directly using [this Github link](https://github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding-PoE2/releases/latest/download/PathOfBuildingCommunity-PoE2-Setup.exe). The latest version of PoB can also be found at the official website: [pathofbuilding.community](https://pathofbuilding.community) Once downloaded, install like any other windows application. # Linking your Account Once you open the app, you'll be presented with the default view. PoB's old school design can feel a bit overwhelming but navigation is actually quite simple. ![[Path_of_Building-PoE2_Et3IBUFH6d.png]] All navigation is done by selecting the tabs in the top left corner window. To begin, go to the Import/Export tab to sync your current character: ![[Path_of_Building-PoE2_eGG7pN9fw3.png]] Now, click here to authorize with the GGG servers. This will open a pop up window in your browser. If you are not already logged into your PoE account, you will be asked to log in first: ![[Path_of_Building-PoE2_PxHi1KCbNu.png]] If you are not currently signed into your pathofexile.com account, you will be asked to do so, then presented with an authorization page asking you to allow Path of Building to sync your character data. You may receive a warning that the game site cannot verify the requester. This is safe to ignore, and should be fixed before POE 2 is released from early access. The access you are granting is read-only, nobody besides you and GGG can modify your character data in any way. ![[chrome_mzQabqjnys.png]] After authorizing, go back to Path of Building. The character import frame will now provide the opportunity to find your character by filtering by league and character name. Once you select your desired character to sync, click on *both* the "Passive Tree and Jewels" and the "Items and Skills" buttons to import all of your data. ![[Path_of_Building-PoE2_u59hpGxBzV.png]] That's it! Your account is now authenticated and you can import any of your characters into the tool to review stats or theory craft upgrades.
